THE ROAD TO ACTION
I had an idea, an idea to do a commercial video for Troja but to me it seemed a distant dream rather than something about to happen. The path to the opening and launch of Troja Collection made me brainstorm about different things to do. Soon I realized time was not on my side, it would never be ready in time for the opening. I talked to different people about this who told me about other people who might be able to help. So the ball started rolling.
Before I knew, all the people needed to make this happen were available and willing to help out. This meant only one thing and one thing only.
This was a Troja Video time!
The Place best suited for this was near Hvammur in Hvammstangi - my home town.
To make a commercial video, a script is needed so I wrote down a very raw script which Sölvi then took to add to it and fine tune it.

Yes about that...after all the time we spent on/off SET I realized I did not have any photo of the guy who made it all happen. When telling Sölva about it he commented as if it was perfect like that, the focus should not be on him since he was The Photographer and The Director.
So sorry Sölvi, I found one:)

My dear friends (from left) Ásdís Sverrisdóttir and Ágústa Hera Birgisdóttir came to Hvammstangi, all the way from Njarðvík and Reykjavík to do their magic with hair and styling.
Candle light, a glass of wine and a girl talk Friday night made all the difference. Sad to see you go right after the shooting on Saturday but that´s how it goes sometimes.
Always great to work with positive creative PRO people.

I remember the day as it was Yesterday when I talked to Sölvi for the first time asking him if he was ready to take part in this adventure. He told me he would do this if I promised to rehearse the act a lot. No hiccups on the set or confusion, ha! Sure, I made that promise but instantly started wondering how I should rehearse and fulfill that promise. I mean, after all I have never done anything like this before. In fact, I was the one trying to get rid of my role back in school when I was 13-14 years old since I was too shy to do it.

The evening before we planned to shoot the video we got together to rehearse, or should we say laugh and chat. We drove to the set where Sölvi told everyone what was about to happen and then we went to my moms house to rehearse, except somehow we came to the conclusion that it was impossible to decide how to react, a spontaneous acting should do the trick. I say this with a smile on my face since all the actors had one thing in common, not having acting as a profession and having a dash of doubt in their mind about their own capabilities as main actors.
When the shooting was over I thought to myself
WOW
It was just as if they had done this all their life.
Totally PRO!
Just loved their work, not to mention enjoying their presence!
...and I say this from the bottom of my heart...

I almost forgot myself!
Even though I was in the driving seat in all this, I still feel as if I was a passenger since I could not have done this without all these wonderful talented people who helped me out and took part in it all. That´s the thing, there is one thing to have an idea but totally different thing to actually get it all going and following it through till the end.
So many people have lots of wonderful ideas but never have the courage to take action.
I suppose I am trying to give myself some credit for that - as well as having a vision.

This one is a beauty all the way. It is originated from Sveðjustöðum. It is not every day you get to view one like that or even sit inside one. It made this day totally unforgettable.
THE INVIRONMENT:

The shooting took place near Hvammi, above Hvammstangi in Iceland. It had been rainy for a few days prior to the shooting which made the grass and the flowers so crisp. Worries about continuous rain was in the air early morning on the shooting day but the gods smiled upon us and gave us the most beautiful day. A dash of sun and a dash of skies did the trick to get the best photos.
